The ASA Contractor Qualification Program (CQP) is a straight-forward program that helps establish a shotcrete contractor’s qualifications by review of the contractor’s previous work. In response to the specific needs and unique practices of the pool industry, ASA has further developed a pool-specific CQP to meet these needs. This qualification program provides a distinct service to the industry by assuring designers specifiers, builders, and owners that pool shotcrete contractors self-performing shotcrete placement reviewed here have a proven work record for completion of successful projects of similar work and scope. This qualification program is based on the ASA Board Position Paper, “Qualifications of the Shotcrete Construction Team.”

Pool Qualification:

The program will review specific characteristics of applicant projects in the process pursuing (i.e. wet- or dry-mix) for details which illustrate challenges and contractor responses to items such as:

  • Subgrade preparations
  • Volume of shotcrete placed
