This 7-hour program is a requirement for all nozzlemen wishing to pursue certification as an ACI Shotcrete Nozzleman through ASA. However, it also provides a great overview of the shotcrete process for owners, contractors, and project managers. Those who wish to pursue ACI WET & DRY MIX certification will also have an opportunity to do so this year. Details below.

ACI Wet Mix Certification:
ASA is pleased to work in conjunction with Hydro Arch (Henderson, NV) to provide an opportunity to complete your ACI Wet Mix Certification! Those certifying for the first time would be required to also attend the ASA Education class announced here and pay for this separately. This registration includes the required workbook, CP60 – available in English or Spanish, and a complimentary 1 year ASA Nozzleman membership (Registering for this class would also require you to sign up for an Exhibit Only Pass, available for $20 using ASA’s source code: A17. Class is listed under Association and Industry Training.) If you have 500 hours of shooting experience, you may pursue certification, while 25 hours of shooting experience will allow you to pursue a nozzleman-in-training designation. Slots are filling up quickly and you may secure a spot by sending in your full payment and work experience forms directly to Hydro Arch as soon as possible, but no later than Monday, January 2nd, 2017. This session presents recent advances in shotcrete technology and creative placement techniques. Topics will include advances in mixture design, quality assurance and quality control, equipment, structural shotcrete applications, and the renewed interest in architectural shotcrete. Additionally, recent research into shotcrete quality and durability compared to traditional form and pour concrete will be discussed in detail. Case studies will cover both dry-mix and wet-mix shotcrete in large infrastructure application, repair and rehabilitation, and ground support.

This theoretical training course is designed to improve the skills of the nozzleman in the workplace and improve the quality of shotcrete placed. After completing this course, participants will obtain basic knowledge of technology of concrete and shotcrete, including health and safety measures. Case studies will demonstrate how to apply methods of design, placement techniques, and evaluation of quality control in fresh and hardened states.
